The countdown to Noosa Food & Wine Festival 2017

The tipis and A French Saloon will soon be popping up on Noosa’s Beach, our restaurants will be filled with the aromas of amazing food from some of Australia’s best chefs, the prosecco and Champagne are on ice and the DJs are warming up their dance beats – it’s less than one week until the Noosa Food & Wine Festival (18-21 May 2017) and our mouths are watering already!

More than 70 events, 50 chefs from around Australia and overseas, 50 wine makers, 20 Noosa restaurants, 3 Festival hubs, markets, hinterland food trails, and Pilates and Yoga on Noosa’s beach – it’s a food and wine lover’s paradise.

With Noosa’s beautiful beach, river, national park and hinterland backdrop, it really will be a feast for all your senses so book your Noosa Food & Wine break now!

WINE AND PRODUCE IN THE WOODS
With the Noosa River as a backdrop, the Woods Wine & Produce Village will have three days of entertainment, wine tastings, cocktails, Festival chefs on-stage, beautiful food and relaxing sunsets. Meet, taste and buy wines from 30 winemakers; taste some of the region's best produce as showcased by Slow Food Noosa and Noosa Farmers Market; and relax at the Dal Zotto Prosecco Bar with dishes by Noosa Boathouse Chef Shane Bailey.

See Festival chefs including Sat Bains, Geoff Lindsay, Adam D'yslva, Frank Camorra, Giovanni Pilu, Matt Golinksi, Luke Mangan, Massimo Mele, Ian Curley and Ben O'Donoghue on-stage; and chill out at the Sticks Wine and Cheese Bar, Asahi Super Dry Oyster Bar, Sunset Lounge presented by Miss Moneypenny’s and the Cider Lab Harvest Bar.Hear from Australian dance music royalty - Hugo Gruzman, Jimmy 2 Sox, Surahn, Wealth, Greg Sara and Tim Sullivan who will mix the beats every night.

The Woods Wine & Produce Village is open Friday 19 May, 5-10pm; Saturday 20 May, 11am-10pm; Sunday 21 May, 11am-5pm. Tickets are $30 (+ booking fee) online or $35 at the door and include a Plumm glass to keep and your first glass of wine.

With 4 days and nights of fun, food and wine, here are a few more special treats that you won’t find anywhere but the Noosa Food & Wine Festival!

Join an intimate dinner for only 12 people with Geoff Lindsay from Dandelionin Melbourne (Australia’s most awarded Vietnamese restaurant) and Saigon Street in Bali as he prepares 6 courses Vietnamese-style with a French influence. Ian Curley brings his French Saloon to Noosa beach – dine with your feet in the sand at this exclusive, purpose-built marquee right on the beach. Matched with wines from the Sound of White Vineyard, in Marlborough New Zealand.

Keep the party going at the Apres Jazz and Supper Club at Rococo in Hastings Street with Sarazu The Flamenco, Champagne, cognac and supper club.

Wild vines, sunset cocktails, sparkling Champagnes and a mini Pinot Palooza are some of the special ways to celebrate with a drink at Noosa Food & Wine Festival. Many of Australia’s best wine makers and experts will share their knowledge, provide tastings and unravel the mysteries of some of your favourites sips.

The founder of Pinot Palooza, Dan Sims, brings an unplugged version of the country’s biggest pinot party to Noosa, joined by wine maestro Mike Bennie for a fun and friendly pinot party at Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas. BOOK HERE.

Taste 5 different Champagnes and learn about the food that goes with them at Bernadette O’Shea’s Champagne Masterclass at Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort.

Find out about Australia’s wonderful, weird and wacky new-wave wines in Where the Wild Vines Are at Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas.

HEAD FOR THE HILLS

The countryside that surrounds Noosa is the source of much of the beautiful fresh bounty served in our restaurants, and you can meet the growers and farmers and taste their produce on the land.

Be swept away to Maravista Farm for a Long Lunch in the Groves with chef Matt Golinski, set among macadamia groves on the outskirts of Boreen Point, about 25 minutes from Noosa Heads. Presented by Beyond Experiences.

Join the Noosa Food Safari with Slow Food Noosa, visiting Eumundi Beef and Noosa Black Coffee for tours and tastings, followed by 3-course Asian-inspired lunch at Garnisha Spice Farm with Matt Golinski and Glen Barratt. Then sunset drinks and Woombye cheese back in Noosa.

 

GET ACTIVE AT NOOSA FOOD & WINE
Work up an appetite or work off all that indulging in food and wine with Pilates or Yoga right on Noosa’s Main Beach in the early morning. Noosa Flow presents Pilates on Saturday 20 May from 6.30am, and Yoga on Sunday, both followed by a light breakfast. Stretch out as the sun comes over the Noosa Headland and greet the day! Tickets $40 (+ booking fee).

Or watch Festival chefs dual it out in the surf, then share a casual beachfront breakfast hosted by Ben O’Donoghue at the Board Riders Breakfast at Sunshine Beach Surf Club, overlooking the ocean, on Sunday 21 May, 7am. Tickets $40 (+ booking fee).

 


CATCH THE FESTIVAL SHUTTLE BUS
The easiest way to get around on Noosa Food & Wine Festival weekend is the Festival Shuttle Bus between the Noosa Transit Centre (platform 1) in Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Junction; The J bus stop at 60 Noosa Drive, Noosa Junction; and the Noosa Heads bus stop in Hastings Street on Saturday 20 May and Sunday 21 May. Park at Noosa Transit Centre or The J in Noosa Junction.

The shuttle bus leaves every half hour - first bus leaves Noosa Transit Centre at 10am both days. The last bus leaves Hastings Street at 9.45pm on Saturday and 5.45pm on Sunday.
