Midday: Cooroy

After an exciting morning in the creative hinterland hub of Eumundi make your way to the township of Cooroy only a 10-minute drive away and referred to as the heart of the hinterland. Travel to Cooroy via Eumundi Range Road and Nandroya Road, past original Queenslanders and through stunning hinterland scenery.

Enjoy a delicious lunch before discovering the town – choose from good old country hospitality, high tea, Asian delights, a delicious French patisserie and more. Visit the Mill Place Precinct in the heart of Cooroy, a creative and interactive indoor and outdoor hub that honours the town's heritage as a thriving timber town. The historic Butter Factory Arts Centre displays works of local artists and has changing exhibitions, workshops and pop-up studios throughout the year. To the left of the Butter Factory is the Cooroy Library, a technology rich hub with lounges, reading areas and a cafe – a great place to relax and browse.

Wander through the park behind the library to the Lower Mill Site which houses a restored boilerhouse and kilns, Log Maze, Cooroora Woodworkers and the Sunshine Coast Camphor Laurel Initiative – you can even hear from Peppers Ghost about the town's history … truly a step back in time!

Afternoon: Lake Macdonald

Unwind and stroll through the Noosa Botanic Gardens, have a picnic at the lake or watch out for native birds on the Fearnley Bird Hide – you might see a majestic osprey or a colourful rainbow bee-eater. Sit in the stunning lakefront Greek-style amphitheatre and enjoy the beautiful lake views.
