Cooroy celebrates Christmas with 2 days of festive events including Christmas lights, snow flurries, music, a street parade, rides, fireworks and more.

On Friday 1 December, join the lighting of the Cooroy Christmas trees from 6.45pm. There'll also be snow flurries, a performance by the Four Corners Quartet, and the launch of the Shop Window Trail with shops displaying their Christmas lights displays. Cooroy Library Rooftop Movies screens The Santa Clause from 7pm on the grassed area - bring a rug (entry by donation).

On Saturday 2 December, Christmas in Cooroy gets under way with the Bendigo Bank Street Parade from 4pm along Maple Street, Cooroy, followed by the Great Santa Race; Santa Sack Races for the kids; a visit from Santa; free rides including Bouncy Castles, Giant Slides, Face Painting; fireworks and live music.

The theme for the Bendigo Bank Street Parade is ‘Stories, Books and Authors’ - see around 30 community groups and businesses with their decorated floats and costumes as more than 10,000 people line the street to catch all the fun. There will also be giveaways and lollies.

Entry for the Cooroy Great Santa Race is $10 which includes a Santa suit that entrants can keep, and all proceeds go to the Leukaemia Foundation. Cash prizes to be won - entrants must be 18 years or older.

The Santa Sack Races are great fun for the kids and every child gets a prize - free entry. See the East versus West Tug-of-War competition before Santa Claus drops in to visit the children and give them all a sweet treat.

Free rides include the Giant Slide, Cup and Saucer, Jumping Castle, Mini 4WDs, Animal Farm, a foam pit and face painting, and free popcorn and ice creams.

Entertainment on the Cooroy Supa IGA stage in Apex Park includes Pineapple Crush, Noosa Concert Band and Smokin Mirrors, and the Cooroy RSL Fireworks display.

Also food and market stalls, a bar and fundraising raffle.

Christmas in Cooroy is hosted by Cooroy Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of Cooroy.
