National Recycling Week in Noosa

Celebrate National Recycling Week in Noosa with events and activities organised by Noosa Council, including a Slow clothing talk, New life for old clothes – upcycling workshop, Make your own beeswax cloth wraps, free outdoor movie, and Another Woman’s Closet.

EVENT DETAILS:

Slow clothing talk with Jane Milburn: Tuesday 13 November, 11.30am–12.30pm, Noosa Leisure Centre. Hear a compelling case for why we need to change the way we dress to live lightly on Earth.

New life for old clothes – Upcycling workshop: Tuesday 13 November, 12.30–2pm, Noosa Leisure Centre. Bring along a few garments from your wardrobe that you are holding on to but not wearing in their current form. Discuss options for their revival and use simple hand sewing to restyle them for a second life. $10 per person. Bookings and pre-payment required in person or phone Noosa Regional Gallery on 07 5329 6145.

Make your own beeswax cloth wraps: Wednesday 14 November, Noosa Regional Gallery, 10.30–11.30am and 11.30am–12.30pm. Reusable beeswax wraps are a great alternative to cling film, $20 per person includes workshop and 3 wraps to take home, material will be supplied. Bookings and pre-payment required in person or phone Noosa Regional Gallery on 07 5329 6145.

Tyre Planter Demonstration, Friday 16 November, 2-3.30pm, Reviva Noosa Shop (tip shop), Noosa Landfill, 561 Noosa Eumundi Rd, Doonan. Learn how to upcycle old tyres into planter pots. FREE but bookings essential on 0448 276 107.

FREE outdoor movie at Noosa River, Friday 16 November, 6.30-8.30pm, Noosaville Lions Park, Gympie Tce, Noosaville. Head out for an early dinner to one of Noosaville's many restaurants or bring a picnic and rug and enjoy this free family screening of Coco. Food truck available.

Another Woman’s Closet, Sunday 18 November, 8am–12.30pm, Noosa Leisure Centre, 9 Wallace Drive, Noosaville. Sell or purchase good quality, pre-loved clothing. One woman's trash is another woman's treasure.
