Noosa Hunt and Gather Lunch

Noosa Hunt and Gather Lunch

Join Australia’s culinary young guns at The Noosa Hunt & Gather Lunch for a unique afternoon of incredible produce and feasting as 6 chefs, 7 waiters and 4 restaurateurs take over Noosa Waterfront Restaurant for the Appetite for Excellence national hospitality awards.

Australia’s hottest young chefs, waiters and restaurateurs will descend on Noosa to cook and host a one-off, four-course lunch - foodies are invited to join the 17 national finalists who will cook and serve an unmissable feast.

The menu is inspired by produce which the group unearthed during a recent culinary safari of Queensland’s most dynamic farmers, harvesters, fishers and winemakers.

Hear the stories behind the dishes, see the trends that will soon find their way on to our plates and experience first-hand what the next generation of young Aussie taste-makers have to offer.

The 17 national finalists are from restaurants including Bennelong (Sydney), Anchovy (Melbourne), Urbane (Brisbane) and St Hugo (Barossa). They have been selected by industry legends including the likes of Peter Gilmore, Luke Mangan, Christine Manfield, Ross Lusted, Sam Christie and Danielle Gjestland from Noosa's Wasabi Restaurant and Bar.

VISIT NOOSA

Just how close to a humpback whale would you feel comfortable being? Watching the majesty of humpbacks as they travel through the warm waters off Noosa on their annual migration north is an unforgettable sight – their playful tail slaps, breaches, sprays and fin ‘waves’ seem even more incredible when you consider their size … around 15m in length and weighing more than 35 tonnes!

The Global Goddess

Some days you just have to let the world come to you. I was recently back in beautiful Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. I’ve been up there a lot lately, more by default than design, and what’s really cool is that every time I’m there, I discover a host of new things. On this trip, I stumbled across some cool international experiences in which you can indulge. Here are five of my favourites.
