Steve Irwin Day at Australia Zoo

  • When: Wednesday 15 November 2017
  • Where: Australia Zoo, 1638 Steve Irwin Way, Beerwah, Sunshine Coast
  • Time: Gates open 8am
  • Website: www.australiazoo.com.au

Steve Irwin Day at Australia Zoo celebrates the greatest wildlife warrior who ever lived. The day will be jam-packed with action and music with Troy Cassar-Daley performing, and you'll need your best khaki outfit to get amongst it!

Wear khaki as you enter the Zoo and you'll get 10 per cent off entry prices (conditions apply – see the website).

The gate will open at 8am, so head in early and grab a free BBQ brekkie provided by Mix FM. The Steve Irwin Day official opening ceremony will be held at 11.15am in the Mount Franklin Crocoseum.

Troy Cassar-Daley will perform before the Wildlife Warriors show at noon, when the Irwin family will feed the crocs.

There’s also Australia Zoo's annual lorikeet race through the Crocoseum, kiss-a-critter competitions, make your own bird feeder, Fried-mudd animal clay workshops, pony rides and face painting.

Team up with your family and embark on a mission to collect all five Wildlife Warrior badges as you learn ‘The key to becoming a true Wildlife Warrior'.

Conservation Conversations will be held in the Wetlands Room of the Education Centre from 1-1.50pm and 3.10-4pm for everyone interested in current conservation activities being undertaken in Australia.

The event will be streaming live on the website from 11.15am.

VISIT NOOSA

Just how close to a humpback whale would you feel comfortable being? Watching the majesty of humpbacks as they travel through the warm waters off Noosa on their annual migration north is an unforgettable sight – their playful tail slaps, breaches, sprays and fin ‘waves’ seem even more incredible when you consider their size … around 15m in length and weighing more than 35 tonnes!
