Noosa restaurant named best regional restaurant in Australia

Noosa has further cemented itself as not only the perfect holiday destination, but also a culinary hotspot after Wasabi Restaurant and Bar was named “The Hottest Regional Restaurant” in the country in The Australian’s Hot 50 Restaurant List.

Wasabi, in Quamby Place, Noosa Heads, has been awarded Hottest Queensland Restaurant for the past three years, and last year also picked up Hottest Classic Restaurant. This newest award places them in line with some of the most highly awarded and respected restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Wasabi owners Danielle Gjestland and Zeb Gilbert said they were thrilled and humbled by the news.

“Being ranked number one amongst restaurants that have placed in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants List is such an honour," Danielle said.

It has been a big year for Wasabi with the opening of two new businesses, The Cooking School Noosa and Ibento Event Space.

“From the kitchen to the front of house, our gardeners at the farm and all of our fabulous suppliers, everyone deserves to celebrate the part they played in getting us here. It was truly a team effort," Zeb said.
