Bicycling Australia has announced its third major Gran Fondo, the Noosa Classic, to be held in the holiday destination of Noosa on Queensland's Sunshine Coast on 26 August 2018.

The Noosa Classic will draw riders from around Australia and overseas to the magnificent Noosa region which is well known as a mecca for sporting events. Noosa offers a diverse and wonderful experience for visitors with beautiful beaches, stunning hinterland and great shopping in a casual environment ... perfect for an extended stay around the Noosa Classic.

Race director Ben Johnson, owner of Johnson Bicycles has designed the Noosa Classic course to showcase Noosa's cycling terrain. The 160km loop will start at the Girraween Sports Complex in Noosa Heads, with a 3km climb out of Noosa Main Beach, then wind through the Noosa hinterland before returning through the Mary Valley, the Noosa country town of Kin Kin, Lake Cootharaba and Boreen Point.

Relax at the end of the Noosa Classic in the event village at Girraween Sports Complex.

The Noosa Classic will showcase the beauty of Noosa and its hinterland, touching every corner of the Noosa Shire.

Watching the majesty of humpbacks as they travel through the warm waters off Noosa on their annual migration north is an unforgettable sight – their playful tail slaps, breaches, sprays and fin ‘waves’ seem even more incredible when you consider their size … around 15m in length and weighing more than 35 tonnes!
